car cover

What type of indoor car covers do Elan owners use? I'm looking for indoor only, something with a very soft car surface.

In the UK I have used Specialised Covers bought through The Lotus Forum which have been excellent, better than the one through Classic Additions. But, when it comes down to it I'm just not a huge fan. I don't think the car breathes well, especially if it is a bit damp. The best thing I have owned was ( and is, but no space at present) an Air Chamber.

For my situation I chose to go with an ?air chamber? type. We have a persistent rodent problem with an infinite supply of creatures here in the countryside. Chewing wires and general destruction.
Also very particular about preserving my new paint job as well as the dark BRG really shows dust. All pointed to the capsule type.
I have been using the bubble type but it doesn?t lend itself to easy in and out.

Just ordered a standup version that you can enter and exit. Found a source that does a 12 foot version at a reduced price(end of year 20% discount). This size will have a small footprint and use less volume in my garage than my current 14 foot bubble.

There was a discussion about this and several owners, including me had their paint blister under covers. You may want to search for that thread.

Hmm, that is concerning .

Was your paint new? I'm just looking for something to keep dust off in the garage.

STRICTLY indoors.

I had relatively new paint, less than a year, blister under a non-breathable cover outdoors. Indoors I?ve had the plush weave cover on again a year after the respray and now for about eight years without any problems, I believe it?s the trapping of moisture underneath non-breathable covers,I would always wait a year post respray Gordon Sauer

Your garage needs to be damp free, otherwise risk of micro blisters.

Happened to me so now never use a cover.
