Anti-Squeal shims

PostPost by: stuartgb100 » Thu May 03, 2007 6:19 pm

Need some shims for the 16PB calipers fitted to my Sprint, so rang ClassicCar Automotive ........ stunned when told that they can't obtain them anymore !

Has anyone a source, please?

Would like to order/collect so that I can fit at the weekend. Am in East Anglia (uk) if there's a local supplier, otherwise will have to trust the post.

Regards,
Stuart.

Stuart, have you tried all the Triumph spares sellers (Rimmers, Canley classics etc). Otherwise try Pat at Kelvedon, SJ Sportscars and they other suppliers

The +2 calipers are OEM on the Triumph GT6 series. The early P and PB calipers used 1/4-inch pad retaining pins, the same pads, and English threads. The later PB had metric fittings and used smaller diameter (3/16-inch?) pad retaining pins, with corresponding pads.

You could give Sue Miller a call.

I got some new front pads from Susan Miller and they came with new shims and pins.

You could also give SJ Sports Cars a try.

Many thanks all.

Should have thought for a moment before keying in the question. Picked them up from a triumph specialist fairly local to me.

Regards and thanks,
Stuart.
