Scalextric is 1:32 but some other makes offer 1:24, such as the likes of AUTOart and scratch built also use this not so common scale, It's possibly more common in the USofA. Tho I dont know for sure.
I've a few models in this 1:24 scale and they are considerably larger and maybe a bit more detailed than the 1:32 cars.
My favorite is the AUTOart rendition of the Lamborghini Murcielago roadster with the paint work and detail being so good it will hold it's own against most high end static models.
