a new guy with a few problems

Hi there my name is nic and I have sort of a plus 2 . My dad passed away and left it for me. I have managed to get it rebuilt to a standard that I am happy with at a fair expence but am having a few problems . It's a plus 2 1968 chassis no.501046 just want to know what wheels are ment to be fitted and why there are two different types of head bolts ?

Hi and welcome Nic.

Your 1968 +2 should have steel wheels most probably painted silver.

Head bolts I have two different types the four outer ones ate straight with a washer and the iner ones are thiner with the same thread but slightly bent ? I have done a total rebuild on my own and have have started the car got it running on all four with a lot of blue smoke . Got the head of and found the valve guides worn replaced and was about to put the head back on and found two different types of head bolt

A new set of head bolts it is then ,thanks love that colour and the interior of your car , mine is lotus yellow with the same seats and a fee modifications

A couple of suppliers to get you started. :)

I like the Wedgewood Blue it's a colour you do not see very often. The early cars are much cleaner looking.
