Hi Franck, It's nice to see you have my old plus 2 and have got it going again, would you like to know more about the history and early life of TYG926F as I restored it 25 years ago and still have the photos and some video from back then.
The car was first bought from Northern Sportscars in Thirsk North Yorkshire and sold to it's first owner a Mr Derek Gaunt in 1967 and the sill members you removed were made by myself out of scaffolding tubes as I couldn't afford the cost of replacement sill members at the time!
I have tried to reply to your post earlier but can't see it so I may have duplicated this reply.

Andrew

Hi Andrew

Very great news!
Thank you very much for your message
Of course I'm very interested by all the information you have!
I was thinking the car was originally white, so I'm pleased to read red is genuine

You made a great job with the sill members, they were not so bad, only the nuts were really rusted!
I will surely have a lot of question!

Franck

Thank you Alan

This is a very nice picture Andrew sent me
You can see the car after his restoration in the late 80's

Was the car Carnival Red originally? Our records at Lotus confirm the dealer as you said, but we don't have a original body colour.

Andy,
I'm very interested by the more information you have.
According to Andrew the car was originally red (but don't know if it's carnival). It was white when Andrew bought it

Hi
The +2 is currently at our french specialist Pierre for servicing (gear box oil seal) and after removing the engine, Pierre has discovered the turrets are damaged? the chassis must been changed

so if you have a good address, I'm not against Spyders

Thanks
Franck

Hi Fran?ois,
Sorry for delay, I just see your message
My +2 is always in progress :D
Now the chassis is new, the final drive has been overhauled too, the gear box has new bearings ... and so on
I have found some original wheels with larger rear ones
There is always something to do with this car but I love it

I go on your post
Franck
