When installing rear screen with new seals does the glass get positioned from inside the car or from the outside? There is debate between the people helping me with this. Thanks John O

John,
I did it positioning the glass from outside the body. I was able to do this single handedly with no difficulty. Positioning from inside would have been much more difficult. You need to lift the seal from the outside to get it to wrap over the glass. The cavity for the locking strip allows this flexibility. Where are you in Massachusetts? I am in Millis with 0170N.

I suspect you can do it from either side (they pop out and need to be pushed back in if they want to fight you) but I agree that from the outside should be a lot easier.

Be careful to get the glass centered before putting in the locking strip, there's surprisingly little keeping the glass in place and you need to take full advantage of what's there.

So . . . Does the gasket go around the body flange/opening first, and then the glass into the gasket, or gasket onto the glass first and then the assembly into the opening? And . . . When does the caulking/sealant get applied?

Thanks!

Randy
