I saw your car on instagram a day or so ago, it looks really great, and lovely that you have been passed it from your father.

My throttle peddle was stiff when I first got my car, almost jolty when pressing it, so it was not smooth to accelerate. I just replaced the whole cable (bought online very reasonably) and it fixed it straight away, such a pleasure to drive afterwards, and very easy to do - 20 mins.

So maybe try that, as the cable has probably rusted away a little inside the outer liner.

I will keep an eye on instagram and here for updates :-)

Rich

Hi Rich

Was the cable Lotus specific or just a cable?

Thanks for your help and kind words!

If anyone else is on Instagram, don't hesitate to add me @burton4130

Cheers

Hi Russell

It was Lotus specific. I think I bought it from SJ Sportscars, part number SJ050S0013. https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and- ... 0S0013.htm

Here are a few of my useful links in case they help with anything:

I will add you on Insta now!

Cheers

Looks just fine from 20 feet, at least in the picture. As it will cost a king's ransom to fix the bubbles, enjoy driving it and just let people know they're for flotation in case you find yourself in a pond.

Get into it and it will stay in the garage in pieces for another generation.

Wow, if only my wish list was that simple and cheap. I?m nearly finished but you could still add at least another nought on the end of my list, and it?s only taken 33 years so far to complete it. If it?s working, drive it and enjoy it!

It does from a distance... Bit like I do lol

I'll start a new post regarding the microblisters and my theory behind why they are all over the car.
