I have just listed on Ebay,in UK, an original sales brochure for the early 5 speed S130 model , with ashtray, not fuse box in the dashboard. Bought in error, not for my car; I aim to get back what I paid for it. See my listing if interested..TonyA

Interesting, my 130/5 is one of the first to be sold (as opposed to press cars) and it has a fuse box. My car was registered in Nov 1972 and the gearbox is serial no 0007.

Brochure clearly shows an ashtray , not a fuse box in the dash, and has 5th gear performance figures. Maybe Lotus used earlier model for the brochure photo, ahead of actual S130/5 production..?

Yes, Lotus were notorious for 'phased' model changes to use up left over parts or introduce new parts early to cover shortages. Waste not want not!
