Spare wheel

Would appreciate any pictures showing how you store jack, copper hammer etc in boot, mine just rolls around in a rag!

It rather depends on which jack came with your car. They did change during the production life of Elans.

I have a scissor jack that came with my Sprint. I still have the original white sisal bag. It contains the jack, handle and original babbit hammer, albeit a PO has cut down the length of the handle. This little bundle plus the original tool roll all sit in the space to the right of the tank, as one looks down and as shown in the attached photo.

It is a tight enough fit to prevent any movement, loose enough to allow it all to be removed when needed. It is covered by the small triangular wooden floor board that usually sits there. Oddly enough I had a puncture in the tube of one of my tyres only last month and had to change over wheels on the outskirts of Cambridge.

I do have a more substantial bag of tools, oil, petrol additive etc, which sits neatly in the space between the two rear suspension turrets.

I bought some foam and made a holder for jack and box off bits by cutting holes, it fits on the right side on the boot under the floor.Its not very presentable but does good job of holding everything in place.

Richard, it's a foam insert,... shown in slide BB in the early edition of the parts book.
Vince Haydon used to sell them on eBay.

Just another idea,
I fit the spare wheel upside down making a storage space.
I made a cardboard template and when walking round the town centre I bought a plastic cake cover from the pound shop. There is all sorts of bits of junk thrown in there, fuses, bits of wire, cable ties, spark plugs, master cylinder cap spanner, pieces of wood for jacking, string. I am not sure what there is in there, but I know where to look.
I also have some sensible tools separately.
