Donnington

PostPost by: GrUmPyBoDgEr » Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:08 am

I'll be flying over & will be there all day Saturday & Sunday until about 14:00. Will be there helping out with tickets etc. for the Hockenheim Lotus festival.
Check out my previous thread. Club Lotus can provide a table in the "Club Lounge" (no charge!!) as a meeting point if any of you want to set one up!
Cheers
John

Some sort of meeting point is a good idea or we may not ever find each other. Alas I have other commitments over the weekend so I will only have a couple of hours at the show.

John, if you are going to there all weekend perhaps you could set something up?

Hi All,

I'm hoping to go up on Saturday with Niall if my steering wheel comes back from the factory in time, if not I'll have to take the BMiniW (will they let me in?) . It'll probably have to be in the afternoon as my 8-year old son's football team have got through to the next round of the Cup (if only he hadn't saved that penalty )

O.K Steveww,

I've previously arranged for a table to be made available to us in
"The Club Lounge" through "Club Lotus".
I will print off some "LotusElan.net" thingies on A4 paper, to identify the table and place a note book on it where you can leave messages, mobile phone numbers etc.
Bring a pen with you!
Hope this is OK, the rest is up to everybody else!!!!

Jason,

must meet your wife, she must be something special in order to get hundreds of men following her around!!!!

See you on the weekend
John

John

Of course she is special to me, not sure I want hundreds of strange men learing at her though :o

I am sure there will be plenty of single ladies there for you

Hi everyone,

I'll be there on Saturday too although my +2 isn't quite ready yet. I'll look in at the elan.net table to say hello.

It's surprising how quickly Donington has come around - I'll have to make sure the car's ready for Castle Combe. :D

Best wishes,

Si

I'll be there for a couple of hours early on Saturday.
I'll drive up in my Elise, but have a list of bits that I need for my S4 rebuild - Handbrake clamping lever, front drivers side caliper, dashboard, seat covers, brake hoses etc
Well it's early days in the rebuild.....
Hope I can meet a few of you at the Club Lotus table
Regards
Bruce

Can't believe I'm going to miss Donnington. It's my birthday this weekend and the wife has arranged a 'surprise' weekend away. I was happily booking a posh hotel up near the show when she admitted it...

Hope you all have fun - maybe next year...

Just returned from Day1 at Donnington to report if you are after glassware, household cleaners, taiwan tools or confectionary, you're in the right place.
If you need spares for your elan or plus2 I don't think you will be overjoyed, the stalls are a little thin on the ground.
But,that is just my opinion, maybe others have something to report......

Have to agree with John - Bright spots were:

The car park,
Cliveboy
Matty's Golden +2 gone up
A clear motorway (apart from the 40 limit)
The +2 passed its MOT this morning, and ran fine there & back!

Dim spots:
I arrived late - see above
Bar seems to have been shut by the time I arrived (just as well)
Lots of shiny cars in much better cosmetic condition than I ever expect mine to be in......

Hi there,
Got back Sunday afternoon. Met the "old english white" who posts on here, seems like a nice guy. Car park was great except for the fact I reversed too far back , caught the back box on the kerb, and bent the centre pipe section!!!

Some very expensive cars for what I thought they were, but hey thats good news isn't it?

cheers
Mark

ps the sweet stall was good to :-)

agree with everyones comments...
Stoneleigh has more to offer in terms of parts etc, notably attracts more +2s and elans, and less of the new shiney lotus's..
Met up with Steve W and saw Si in the distance but couldn't catch up with him due to having a 2yo in tow!
Cheers
