Action: With the 'Failsafe' headlamp system, the lamps are normally in the raised position. When the engine is started, the vacuum system retracts, the lamps against spring pressure, thus holding them down.

When the engine is 'switched off' the vacuum system will continue to hold the lamps in the down position for AT LEAST 12 hours. After this period has elapsed, the lamps will start to lift to their normal position.

In the U.K. Warranty Claims for faulty headlamp vacuum systems will not be met AFTER THE FIRST 3,000 miles (5,000 km. or 3 months) Service, our contention being that this should have been found by the time that Service is due.
