Title: Lotus 5-speed Gearbox - First Motion Shaft
Reason: To advise Dealer personnel of recommended procedure following gearbox overhaul.
Parts Required: B050 F 0283B First Motion Shaft
Action: If it is suspected (or known), that the needle roller bearing supporting the First Motion Shaft, is running dry, it is recommended that the later type shaft is fitted. The new shaft (Part No. B050 B 0283B), can be identified by the two holes drilled through the land between the gear teeth. The purpose of these holes being to allow lubricating oil to pass from the gears to the bearing.
